may I refer and use (parts of) your doc about Cipher suites for my own implementation of OpenSSL for qmail-remote (within my SPAMCONTROL) ?

I noticed a small typo in your text. This is correct syntax:

Delete the device before ejecting the bay, rescan after reinserting.

I have absolutely no quarrel with MSI about the memory patch. I’m aware that my case is probably somewhat special (although MSI puts this board into the industrial computing category, which may imply that something besides Windows could be used on it). The special BIOS works and gives me 31MB more RAM, which I am happy about.

“The < 32 MB video memory option does not, however, appear to be present.”
Likely because those using text-mode only on the desktop are only a minority of users nowadays (it isn’t even possible on Windows).

“The easy way is to simply ignore the physical memory in the address ranges claimed by devices. The physical memory cell becomes inaccessible, and the storage it provides is lost. This is obviously not a popular solution.”
But it is of course the only option for older chipsets that have only 32 address lines, like the Intel 945 and older chipsets. In this case (or if memory remapping is otherwise disabled), you won’t see the last e820 line mapping memory at 0×100000000.

Unfortunately I can’t quote the numbers off of the top of my head, but I’ll try to remeasure when I find the time.

I was very fortunate to have stumbeled upon your page, since I am on my way on setting up a very similar home server (same box and motherboard) as you.

I would never had figured out the memory-bios issue on my own. Thanks a lot for posting your findings online!

However, I have tried upgrading my bios using the files from the MSI homepage, but without success. The supplied utility says that it cannot be run under the operating system that I am using. I have tried both Windows XP and Windows 7.

May I ask how you installed/flashed it? (which operating system, which tool?)
Did you just use the files suppled on the (MSI) homepage?
